Questions people actually ask
Does it work without internet?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Medox needs a connection to open screens and to save. Posting a bill carries an idempotency key, so a flaky connection that retries cannot bill the same sale twice, but a counter with no connection at all cannot post a sale today. Offline billing is planned, and it is a real distributed-systems project rather than a checkbox.
Can I import from my current software?
Your medicine master imports from CSV today, and the importer tells you exactly which rows it could not read rather than silently dropping them. Opening stock is entered batch by batch, with real batch numbers and expiry dates. Customers and suppliers are added in the app; there is no import for them yet. Direct importers for Marg, Vyapar and Tally exports are on the roadmap.
Is my data safe if I leave?
Yes, and you do not have to ask us for it. Every plan, including free, has a backup button that produces a complete export of your organisation — every invoice, batch, customer and ledger row — as a compressed file you download. There is also an automatic nightly backup kept for 30 days.
Do you support e-invoice and e-way bill?
E-way bills: Medox prepares the details from the invoice and keeps what you get back from the government e-way bill portal — the EWB number, the vehicle and its changes, and cancellations — against the bill. Generating the EWB itself still happens on the portal; Medox does not file it for you. E-invoice (IRN) is coming soon: it needs a GSP connection, which is not available yet.
Can my accountant get access?
Yes. Invite them as a Viewer and they can read everything including cost and profit reports, but cannot bill, edit masters or change settings. You can also scope a user to specific stores.
What is a "bill per day", exactly?
One posted sales invoice. It is counted across the whole organisation, not per store or per user, and it resets at midnight in your own timezone — not UTC, so an evening rush is never cut off by a rollover. Cancelled invoices do not count.
What happens when a plan expires?
You drop to Free limits — 10 bills a day — and nothing else changes. No data is hidden, no report is locked, and the banner says exactly what happened. A shop that forgot to renew must still be able to trade.
How do I move from Marg or Vyapar?
Start with a CSV of your medicine master, enter your opening stock with real batch numbers and expiry dates, add your regular customers and suppliers, and bill on Medox from the first of a month so your GST returns have a clean boundary. It usually takes an evening.
